"All this creates certain difficulties in keeping to the delivery timetable. We hope for the rapid solution of these problems and plan to order two more atomic power stations from Russia."
- Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Mehdi Safari said voicing frustration at delays in construction of the Bushehr nuclear power station by Russia and said Iran hoped to order another two nuclear power stations from Moscow each with a capacity of 1,000 megawatts.

"Russia is already a world-class energy player. The only issue is how Russia will choose to take advantage of the opportunities before it and overcome some significant challenges along the road."
- US Ambassador to Moscow William Burns said Tuesday, noting that Russia must open up its vast oil and gas sectors to foreign investment if the country is to fulfill its potential as "a world-class energy player."
