U.S. corporations increasingly are tying profitability to proactive implementation of environmentally preferable building principles and business practices, according to a new survey.
Siemens Building Technologies and Siemens USA released the report, "Green Perspective from Corporate America," which shows that U.S. companies have begun incorporating green practices into their strategic business plans.
Sixty percent of the companies responding to the survey agreed that environmentally preferable practices and green building would lower operating costs. Forty-three percent consider such practices as part of their company´s growth strategy. Three out of 10 companies believed they would emerge as a market leader in environmental sustainability.
Siemens conducted the survey to gauge the private sector´s attitude and
trends regarding green building and other green principles. More
