19-03-07

US crude imports in January increased a slight 0.4 % from December to 9.623 mm bpd, with shipments from top supplier Canada the highest ever for January, the federal Energy Information Administration (EIA) said.
US January oil imports rose by 39,000 bpd from the month before, based on preliminary numbers from importing companies released by the Energy Department's analytical arm.

Canada was again the largest oil supplier to the US, with shipments up 22,000 bpd to an average 1.851 mm bpd in January, a record for the month, the EIA said.
Saudi Arabia stayed in second place with exports of 1.563 mm bpd, up 92,000 bpd from the month before, and the most since last April.
Mexico kept its third place ranking, with shipments soaring 190,000 bpd to 1.435 mm bpd, but it was still the country's second-lowest monthly average in the past year.

Nigeria moved up one spot to replace Venezuela as the fourth-bigger oil supplier. Nigeria's oil exports jumped 96,000 bpd to 1.106 mm bpd, the highest since last March.
Venezuela fell to fifth place, after shipments dropped 90,000 bpd to 955,000 in January. It was the first time the country's oil exports to the US market were below 1 mm bpd since October 2005.
