Portland Solar Company Goes Net-Zero Energy

Aug 20 - Daily Journal of Commerce (Portland, OR)

Mr. Sun Solar, Oregon's largest solar company, will hold an open house Saturday to celebrate being the first net-zero energy business in the Willamette Valley.

The Portland company will use 33 photovoltaic modules to produce enough electricity to light and heat the office and warehouse, as well as power all computers and manufacturing tools.

Excess power from the sunny months is credited toward electricity needed during the rainy season.

Also running on solar power will be a hot water heating system, a solar cooker and a solar barbecue.
