US regular retail gasoline price dips 0.9 cent to $3.209/gal: EIA

The average US price for retail regular gasoline for the reporting week
ending May 28 was $3.209, a 0.9-cent dip from the prior week, according to
Energy Information Administration data released Tuesday.

     The average was up 34.2 cents from a year ago.

     The West Coast experienced the highest reported regional average at
$3.349/gal, which slipped 2.3 cents from the week before. The Rocky Mountain
region average of $3.276/gal represented a 1.1 cents increase.

     The lowest regional average was on Gulf Coast, where a 2.5 cents decrease
brought prices to $3.067/gal. The second lowest regional average was on the
East Coast, where a 0.1 cent lift brought prices to $3.098/gal.

     The Midwest average of $3.32/gal was 0.6 cent lower than the prior
reporting week.

     The weekly data is normally released on Mondays, but due to the US
Memorial Day holiday weekend, it was released Tuesday this week.
