B.C. has promised to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by a third by 2020 and Campbell says he's looking for ways to hit those numbers and how the province might co-ordinate its efforts with California. While meeting with Schwarzenegger, Campbell is also hoping to paint his province as a potential supplier of clean energy for California. He says there's no reason B.C. can't be a green energy "powerhouse". Campbell says he still plans to host a meeting in B.C. with the governors of California, Oregon, Washington and possibly Alaska later this spring to discuss climate change efforts.
