Burger chain plans to reuse
cooking oil as car fuel
March 22 -- Carlīs Jr. restaurants in Arizona are closing the loop. The company said that all corporate fleet vehicles operated by franchisee MJKL Enterprises LLC will convert to fuel derived from waste vegetable oil collected at restaurants by early 2010. MJKL operates 52 Carlīs Jr. locations in the state. "This is about more than our commitment to running a responsible and sustainable enterprise," said Jason LeVecke, CEO at MJKL Enterprises. "Itīs a challenge to our corporate peers to play an active role in lessening Americaīs dependence on foreign oil."
