Allstate Insurance Co. is donating enough green energy to power the equivalent of 2,000 homes in Texas for an entire year.

The company said it is buying 25.4 million kilowatts of wind energy from the Horse Hollow II wind energy farm in West Texas.

The company also is offsetting a portion of its annual energy use at its corporate headquarters and through business travel, Allstate said.
