Ethanol production, demand continues to grow

Nov. 1

Ethanol production continued to grow in July, averaging 434,000 barrels per day, according to the Energy Information Administration.

However, ethanol demand, as calculated by the Renewable Fuels Association, also increased to 464,000 barrels per day.

To date, U.S. production is averaging 402,000 barrels per day with average demand exceeding that amount at 429,000 barrels per day, according to the RFA.

Meanwhile, a national poll of 1,000 adults found that 74 percent of Americans believe the nation should be using more renewable fuels and 87 percent believe that the federal government should actively support the development of a domestic renewable fuels industry, according to the advocacy group.

The poll was conducted Oct. 23-25 by the Mellman Group and was commissioned by the RFA.

Details about the poll results are available online at www.ethanolrfa.org .
