Green Goes International at the GreenXchange
Global Marketplace Conference Los Angeles, Calif., and
Framingham, Mass., November 14, 2007 (News Release)
GreenXchange LLC has announced that senior executives from major
international corporations including Shell, Honda, Toyota, Abengoa Solar,
ARUP, Sumitomo, Solar Millennium, Sharp Electronics, Plasco Energy and Hill
& Knowlton International Belgium, as well as a host of policy makers from
Japan, China and the UK, will gather at the GreenXchange™ Global Marketplace
Conference to discuss the emerging international trillion dollar market for
clean and green technologies, products and services and sustainable
development. Marketplace drivers to be addressed include: energy security;
public and investor expectations; corporate governance mandates; carbon and
toxic emission reduction commitments; measurements and accountability; and
evolving local, regional and national regulations and incentives. The
inaugural conference is scheduled to take place December 10-11, 2007 at the
Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles.
The timing of the Conference coincides with several other major global
events taking place: the Nobel Peace Prize presentation to Al Gore in
Norway; the UN Post Kyoto Conference in Bali; and the Democratic
Presidential debate in Los Angeles, which is sure to include a lively
discussion of the candidates’ positions on the environment and climate
change. The significance of these issues emphasizes the importance,
relevance and timeliness of the GreenXchange Conference.
As the public and private sectors seek ways to balance the accelerated
demand for fossil resources while reducing carbon and other toxic emissions,
as well as maintaining economic growth, conference attendees will hear
senior executives and entrepreneurs share their experiences of economic
benefits driven through their companies’ environmental initiatives.
“With so much innovation being developed around the world, it’s hard to keep
up on what’s already in the market, what’s about to hit the market, and
what’s needed in the market. This conference offers unparalleled
opportunities for investors, manufacturers, marketers and purchasers to
connect the green dots,” said Jeremy Davies, former Chair of the British
American Business Council, the largest transatlantic business organization.
“The breadth of speakers assembled represent the who’s-who of international
companies and organizations involved in the renewable energy marketplace,”
said Robert Hertzberg, Chairman of the Wales–based G24i. “This conference
will provide attendees with unmatched insight into the expanding portfolio
of eco-technology based products and services that are available and being
deployed, and will showcase the global marketplace’s capacity to respond
creatively and meaningfully to climate change.”
The direct greenhouse gas emissions of private, governmental organizations
and NGO’s may be comparatively small, but in the aggregate, and
internationally, they can have a significant impact on climate change. The
GreenXchange Global Marketplace Conference is designed to encourage exchange
among energy providers, national environmental stewards, and, to afford
first-hand opportunities for leaders in the marketplace to share effective
practice and messaging on the science and/or solutions to mitigate climate
change to the global public.
Other conference speakers providing a global perspective at the inaugural
conference include: Tadashi Maeda, Director General Energy and Natural
Resources Finance Department, Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC);
Dan Dudek, China-based Chief Economist for Environmental Defense (China,
International); Hon. Kazuo Kodama, Consul General of Japan in Los Angeles;
Hon. Bob Peirce, HM Consul General of Great Britain in Los Angeles; and Lan
