Wind Farm Foils Radar Nov 03 -
Daily Mirror
Plans for wind turbines are being thrown into disarray because defence
bosses say they threaten national security.
British military chiefs fears the green energy source can stop radar
detecting aircraft and object to around a half of applications to build
them.
A wind farm at Hethel in Norfolk was rejected after the military said it
would cause "unacceptable" interference to radar at nearby Trimingham.
Renewable energy experts claim its stance could hit the industry.
The British Wind Energy Association said: "This is potentially damaging to
investor confidence and throws the future of wind turbines into doubt."
