GreenHunter Energy Looks to China for Wind Turbines

DALLAS, TX, Oct 12, 2007 -- MARKET WIRE

Gary C. Evans, CEO of Dallas-based GreenHunter Energy, is taking a week's hiatus from his Houston biodiesel refinery project to cement a deal with a private Chinese company for state-of-the-art wind turbines for U.S. power generation. GreenHunter presently holds leases on more than 50,000 acres of wind farms in the western U.S. and is expanding its footprint in other states.

"Our company is aggressively investing in the infrastructure that will allow us to use renewable fuels to supply electricity to the U.S. power grid as well as producing biofuels for the transportation sector," said Evans. "We believe wind, inedible plant materials, animal byproducts and other renewable fuels are a viable source of power in today's energy economy."

In addition to wind farms planned for three western states, GreenHunter also owns a biomass power plant in southern California where the company plans to make electricity from cow manure and wood waste.

GreenHunter recently purchased a diesel powered electrical generation plant that it is transporting by ship from Panama to Houston. "We plan to have the first biodiesel electrical generation plant in the U.S., and Houston will be the first city to use electricity made from biodiesel generated from our new biodiesel refinery," Evans said.
