China to Factor Enviromental Cost Into Power Price

BEIJING - China said on Tuesday it will take environmental costs into account when pricing electricity, in an effort to encourage power generation using clean and renewable sources.


"We will allow longer generating hours for those plants that consume less coal and emit less carbon dioxide," Chen Deming, vice chairman of the National Developement & Reform Commission, told a news conference.
