Mid America opens single-stream facility in Texas

Sept. 17

Mid America Recycling Co. is launching its newest single-stream recycling facility in Garland, Texas, a suburb of Dallas.

Operating under the name Vista Fibers, the facility encompasses 150,000 square feet with 33 dock doors and two 70-foot truck scales.

The recycling system was built jointly by Mid America´s engineering division and Bollegraaf Recycling Machinery, a manufacturer of machines for the recycling industry worldwide.

The plant´s total capacity will exceed 10,000 tons per month.

The city of Dallas awarded Vista Fibers-Dallas a contract in 2006 to handle the city´s single-stream recycling program. Mid America plans to consolidate its two existing commercial recycling operations into the new Garland facility.
