Ukraine Hopes to Start Production of Nuclear Fuel

Kiev, 18 September: Ukraine will start the production of nuclear fuel and nearly double the electricity output of its nuclear power plants by 2030, presidential adviser Bohdan Sokolovskyy quoted President Viktor Yushchenko on Tuesday [18 September].

In his words, Ukraine will hold bilateral and multilateral negotiations with states which plan to develop the national atomic energy industries jointly and transparently.

Yushchenko also suggested broader international cooperation in the development of safe reactors, easier access to financial resources, stability of the nuclear fuel market, promotion of the atomic energy industry development, and guaranteed access to nuclear fuel and services.
