Idaho county approves special-use permit to build wind project

Seattle (Platts)--25Apr2008

Ridgeline Energy on Thursday said the Bingham County, Idaho, Planning and
Zoning Commission has approved its special-use permit to build the 450 MW
Goshen South wind project near Idaho Falls.

While the wind farm will be sited on 20,212 leased acres, the 150
turbines and power equipment only will use about 200 of those acres, said Rich
Rayhill, energy vice president of Seattle-based Ridgeline. Construction is
expected to start in 2009.

The wind farm would avoid the emission of more than 2 billion pounds/year
of carbon dioxide compared with coal-fired power plants, Rayhill said.

Ridgeline also developed the 65 MW Wolverine Creek wind farm near Idaho
Falls that went online in December 2005. The developer subsequently sold the
wind farm to Invenergy Wind. Ridgeline said it controls a wind-site portfolio
representing more than 3,700 MW.
