August 27, 2008

Westerville, OH — The public will learn how to be good stewards of ground water and wells in a show sponsored by the National Ground Water Association (NGWA) September 8 on the RFD-TV Network available nationwide through cable and satellite television providers.

The hour-long program airs at 8 p.m. Eastern Time and includes expert panelists who will answer questions from viewers. RFD-TV reaches 21 percent of households nationwide, mostly in rural areas.

"This is a great opportunity to tell well owners and the public about the role of properly constructed and maintained water wells in providing safe drinking water for America," said NGWA President Scott Fowler, CWD/PI..

"This is news viewers can use delivered right into living rooms coast to coast. To answer well owners' questions live on national television is a fantastic chance to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and caring of professionals in the ground water industry," Fowler said.

During the program, three 3-minute videotaped segments will be shown on (1) proper well location, construction and maintenance; (2) water testing and treatment; and (3) ground water protection. Viewer questions will be taken after each segment.

NGWA-member panelists include:

  • David Haupt, MGWC, general manager of Haupt Well & Pump Co Inc., Auburndale, WI
  • Eric Neubecker, MGWC, vice president of Raymer Company Inc., Marne, MI
  • John Schnieders, Ph.D., principal chemist, Water Systems Engineering Inc., Ottawa, KS.

RFD-TV appears on satellite TV service providers including Armstrong, Bresnan, Charter, Comcast, Direct TV, Dish Network, Mediacom, NRTC, and Suddenlink. Check local TV listings for show availability.
