China's demand for power likely to drop 7% in
Nov on-year: study
BEIJING, Dec 2, 2008 -- Asia In Focus
China's demand for power is likely to decrease by 7 per cent or more in a
year-on-year basis in November as predicted by some industry insiders, said
BOC INTERNATIONAL (CHINA) LTD in a research report released on Nov. 29. BOC
International (China) predicted the demand for power will remain weak in a
short term, but it held an optimistic view about the prospect of independent
power generators.
* According to the report, since the newly added installed capacity is
relatively small next year, there would be a slight drop in the utilization
ratio of power generators, thus promoting the operating revenue to stay
stable.
* Meanwhile, with the fall of coal price, power generators may have a better
profit margin.
