Credit Suisse takes on green economic plan for clients
June 25
Credit Suisse is adopting the Carbon Principles, a program that allows
financial institutions to address environmental and economic risk management
associated with construction of coal-fired power plants.
The principles, created early this year by a group of financial institutions
in conjunction with several power companies, aims to guide advisory and
lending activities by banks to power companies and projects that emit carbon
dioxide.
Credit Suisse will encourage power clients to invest in energy-efficient,
renewable and low-carbon technologies.
