Chemical and science-based product giant DuPont expects to more than
triple its solar power product sales in the next five years to meet
increasing demand for renewable energy.
Charles O. Holliday, Jr., chairman and CEO, told attendees at a May 30
investors´ conference in New York that the company´s photovoltaic sales will
top $1 billion within five years, up from about $300 million today. DuPont
is developing products and technology for the photovoltaic and advanced
biofuels, such as cellulosic ethanol, industries.
"We need to rethink the way we source and use energy and work to minimize
the amount of carbon we put into the atmosphere," Holliday said.
