Turkey to establish 15 wind power plants in
Aegean coast

Turkey plans to establish 15 wind power plants in its Aegean coast, an
official from the energy authorities said on Sunday.
Hasan Koktas, chairman of the Turkish Energy Market Regulation Board, said
the wind power plants would be built in the Peninsula of Cesme in Turkey's
Aegean coast.
Koktas said the project would be worth 460 million Euro and the ability of
the power plants will range between 10-megawatts and 50- megawatts.
"The board has decided to grant licences to companies including Calik, ENDA,
Ayen, Guris and Bilgin Enerji for the project," Koktas said.
There are 13 wind power plants in Turkey with 249 megawatts of power. Four
new power plants are expected to be opened within this year and the wind
power capacity will thus climb to 470 megawatts.
