US' GreenHunter says Houston biodiesel refinery to open Monday

New York (Platts)--2Jun2008

US renewable fuels developer GreenHunter Energy will begin commercial
operations on Monday of a new biodiesel refinery in Houston, Texas, the
company said.

The plant, which GreenHunter said in a statement is the largest biodiesel
refinery in the US, can use 100% animal fats or 100% vegetable oils as
feedstock, or a combination of the two.

"The finished product is of the highest quality biodiesel, more commonly
known as 'water-white' biodiesel," GreenHunter said.

The biodiesel refinery is part of GreenHunter's renewable fuels campus in
Houston, which also includes a 700,000 barrel bulk liquid terminal operation,
a 200 million lbs/year glycerin distillation system, and a 45,000 barrel/month
methanol distillation tower.
