Vestas Wind Systems AS, the world's largest wind turbine maker, said it has
received an order for 92 units of its V82-1.65 MW turbine for the Alegria
project in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil.
The order has been placed by New Energy Options, which is majority-owned by
power generator Multiner S/A.
"We are very pleased to receive this order for Brazil which will be the
second project that Vestas will supply to the Brazilian market," said Vestas'
Mediterranean president Juan Araluce.
"With a wind energy target of 2,200 MW installed by 2010 and 5,000 MW by
2015, we have very positive expectations for the market".
