GreenHunter Energy opens giant biodiesel refinery
May 23
GreenHunter Energy is opening the nation’s single largest biodiesel
refinery on June 2 on the Houston Ship Channel.
The facility, a converted waste oil refinery, gives the company direct
deepwater access and the opportunity to ship products via barge, rail and
truck, the company said.
GreenHunter will produce biodiesel fuel from non-food feedstocks such as
tallow and jatropha plants, the company said.
The facility will produce 105 million gallons of B-100 biodiesel fuel per
year.
