PPL lets customers track energy usage hourly
Nov 11 - McClatchy-Tribune Regional News - Spencer Soper The Morning
Call, Allentown, Pa.
PPL Electric Utilities has introduced a new feature on its Web site that
allows customers to track their hourly energy use on the Internet.
The Allentown company's customers have been able to track their daily
electric use since last year. But the new feature that shows hourly electric
use can help customers experiment with energy saving efforts, such as
lowering the temperature on thermostats for electric heaters, to see what
kind of difference it makes, PPL said.
The new feature can be used at pplelectric.com. Customers have to log in to
their account; click on "myPPL energy analyzer"; click on the "view graphs
of my daily or hourly energy use" icon on the bottom right corner of the
page; and in the box labeled "graph" changed the setting to "hourly energy";
and click on the yellow "view/update graph" box.
More than 240,000 of PPL's 1.4 million customers have accessed the company's
energy analyzer page, according to the company.
