| Recycling group to eliminate
disposal of organic materials
A California recycling organization is launching a national effort to eliminate the disposal of organic materials in landfills within 5 years. The California Resource Recovery Associationīs new COOL 2012 Campaign seeks to stop landfill methane emissions by cutting the amount of organics sent to landfills. COOL 2012, which stands for Compostable Organics Out of the Landfill, will provide "tools, models, presentation materials and public policy suggestions to communities," the group said. Thereīs a Web site at www.cool2012.com. The CRRA calls itself one of the oldest and largest non-profit recycling organizations in the country.
