Photovoltech to double PV cell production capacity
Tienen, Belgium — Photovoltech
has announced that it will expand the photovoltaic (PV) cell production
capacity at its plant in Tienen, Belgium from 140 megawatt-peak (MWp) by
the end of 2009 to 260 MWp by the end 2010. To increase production, the
company plans to build a new production plant at the present site, which
will create more than 150 jobs.
To ensure long-term supply of components, Photovoltech has also signed a wafer supply contract with China's LDK Solar, which will supply the company with 400 MWp of silicon wafers over a period of ten years. Photovoltech's investment is driven by strong growth in the European market, in particular in Germany, Spain, Italy, France and Belgium. To subscribe or visit go to: EE Times Europe |
