Waste-to-energy facility agrees to control emissions
April 8
A Rochester, Minn., waste-to-energy facility has agreed to better control
its emissions under a federal consent order.
In December, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency notified the Olmsted
Waste-to-Energy Facility that it violated the Clean Air Act by not properly
controlling mercury, dioxin and furan emissions.
The facility, a small municipal solid waste-to-energy plant, has agreed to
comply with federal regulations.
