Ford to unveil North American electric commercial vehicle

Ford Motor Co. plans to market a battery-powered light commercial vehicle in North America next year.

The company is using its Transit Connect global commercial vehicle platform, developed in Europe, for the project. The electric vehicle will have a range of up to 100 miles.

·The new Transit Connect light commercial vehicle with battery electric power represents the next logical step in our pursuit of even greater fuel economy and sustainability," said Derrick Kuzak, Fordīs group vice president of global product development.
