Coca-Cola Enterprises, which sells about 80% of The Coca-Cola Co.´s North American bottle and can volume, plans to reduce carbon emissions 15% and recycle 100% of its packaging by 2020.

The measures are part of the company´s five Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability focus areas, which the company plans to achieve by 2020. Coca-Cola Enterprises, the world´s largest marketer, producer and distributor of nonalcoholic beverages, plans to reduce its packaging and recover the equivalent of 100% of the packaging it produces.

The company recovered and reused some 125,000 metric tons, or about 137,000 tons, of packaging materials in 2008, according to its fourth Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Report, available at www.cokecce.com/assets/uploaded_files/final_cce_2008_crsreport_lowres.pdf. It also measured the global and individual country carbon footprints of its U.S., Canadian and West European operations.
