| Rabobank to finance renewable energy projects in U.S.
July 13
Rabobank is launching a program to finance renewable energy projects in
the Americas.
The financial services company, with operations in more than 40 countries,
is establishing what it calls a "Renewable Energy and Infrastructure
Finance" team in New York to finance renewable energy, bio-energy and energy
infrastructure projects.
The company already does similar work in Europe and Asia.
Rabobank will co-underwrite projects initially but has plans to lead
financing in the future.
"Our goal overall is to apply our financial services to effectively
contribute to the transition from a high-CO2 to a low-CO2 economy and,
within the renewable energy sector, to further develop sustainable energy
supplies and technologies around the world," said Marcel Gerritsen, global
head of REIF for Rabobank.
