| Rentech to build biodiesel
production plant in California
Rentech Inc. plans to build a biodiesel production plant in Rialto, Calif., that will use waste biomass as a feedstock. The Rialto Renewable Energy Center will produce about 600 barrels of biodiesel per day and export approximately 35 megawatts of renewable electricity. The plantīs carbon footprint will be nearly zero because it will use renewable feedstock, said D. Hunt Ramsbottom, president and CEO of Rentech. SilvaGas Corp. will license its biomass gasification technology to Rentech to use at the facility. Contact Waste & Recycling News reporter Joe Truini at 330-865-6166 or jtruini@crain.com
