Solar conference sees largest crowd in 38-year history
May 14
The nation´s longest-running solar conference has seen the largest crowd
in its 38-year history, despite the struggling economy.
Attendance at the American Solar Energy Society´s SOLAR 2009 conference,
held, May 11-16, in Buffalo, N.Y., will exceed 5,000, said Brad Collins,
executive director of ASES. The numbers reinforce that interest in solar
energy continues to soar, he said.
ASES also announced that it has purchased Solar Nation, which it described
as a rapidly growing online advocacy organization.
"One of the things I appreciate most about ASES is its close ties with the
groundswell of interest in solar in America," said Chris Stimpson, executive
campaigner for Solar Nation. "This close liaison will allow us to offer a
power advocacy channel to even more people."
