The NRDC recently launched a new mapping tool called “Renewable Energy
for America” that features a broad look at both existing and proposed clean
energy facilities (wind, ethanol, and biodigester) across the country.
The mapping also shows - county by county - which areas in the US have the
most potential for certain types of energy development. To see the map,
visit
https://www .nrdc.org/energy/renewables/default.asp.
reegle also released a searchable map feature that forms the new heart of
www.reegle.info, a specialist search engine for renewable energy and energy
efficiency.
Users can click on a specific location and get the latest events, news, and
a sampling of green energy development projects in that area. There is also
a catalogue of stakeholders and an energy- oriented profile of the relevant
country, including up-to-date statistics and information on local green
energy policies and regulations. Visit
http://www.reegle.info/map/ to see the new reegle map.
UPDATE: Another great map, this time from NPR.
"Vizualizing the Grid" is a layered map of the U.S. electric grid. Included
are transmission lines, power plants, solar and wind installations, state
electricity profiles, and proposed expansions of grid infrastructure.
