Wis. governor signs bill requiring electronics recycling

Wisconsin is now one of 18 states requiring recycling of consumer electronics, including computers, video monitors and printers.

Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle signed into law a bill requiring e-waste diversion from landfills. Under the law, manufacturers are required to arrange for recycling and disposal of consumer electronics.

Under the bill Doyle signed, dumping e-waste in landfills is banned.
