HOUSTON (Reuters) - BP Plc can replace the failed blowout preventer on its ruptured Macondo well in the Gulf of Mexico, the top U.S. official overseeing the spill response said on Thursday. Retired Coast Guard Admiral Thad Allen authorized the switch. (Reporting by Kristen Hays) |
