Protect Your Brain From Parkinson's and Other Neurological Diseases!
Dear Friend, A recent study found that the incidence of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and Lou Gehrig's disease, has increased in far greater numbers than previously suspected. Most of these diseases are age related, meaning that their incidence is much higher as we age, especially after age 50.
What is even more frightening is that these devastating neurological disorders are occurring at much earlier ages than previously seen. Some victims are in their 20s and 30s. Alzheimer's disease is the No. 1 neurodegenerative disease, but Parkinson's is a close second. What the medical profession cannot seem to get in its collective head is that, for every full-blown incidence, there are hundreds of cases that are less severe but that interfere with one's enjoyment of life. We use such benign terms as "age-related cognitive decline" to describe conditions that are just short of full-blown Alzheimer's disease. And we say that old people who walk slowly, have balance problems, and develop minor tremors are just "getting on in years." What we don't acknowledge is the total devastation that neurological diseases can cause in many families — a fact I lived through in my own life!
I've Suffered Personally From My name is Dr. Russell Blaylock. I'm a board-certified neurosurgeon who has been a practicing physician for more than 30 years. I've been facing the ravages of Parkinson's disease and other neurological disorders on a daily basis throughout my career, but Parkinson's also has touched me in my own life. You see, both of my parents were afflicted by this horrible disease. My father was struck first. During a period of 10 years, I watched helplessly as my father's condition went from bad to worse. I was very close to my dad, and to see him go from a robust, energetic man of great humor to a weak, emaciated shadow of his former self was devastating. I tried everything I could think of, and all of the remedies I tried, of course, were traditional medical treatments. None seemed to help. I even subscribed to a neuropharmacology journal so I would have access to the latest drug treatments for Parkinson's disease. Within a few years of my father's death, my mother began to show definite signs of the disease as well. I lived the nightmare all over again. I tried to help my mother with newly-discovered information on the natural treatments of Parkinson's disease, but she was so depressed over the death of Dad that soon she just gave up. Within 10 years she also died of complications associated with her illness.
Until Recently, Mainstream Medicine Until recently, medical scientists had no idea what caused Parkinson's disease, but they entertained theories involving genetics and aging itself. But slowly, scientists have discovered that, like so many diseases afflicting modern man, Parkinson's is an inflammatory disease. Many experts have noted a link between cardiovascular disease (atherosclerosis) and a number of age-related neurological disorders. And, as in cardiovascular disease, Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease are linked to other inflammatory conditions:
We have discovered that regardless of the event or condition that triggers the disease, the damage is caused by intense activation of the brain's immune cells, called microglia, that destroy parts of the brain (such as the striatum). One of the strongest links to Parkinson's disease is exposure to pesticides and herbicides, especially paraquat, pyridaben, fenazaquin, dieldrin, and rotenone. This and other discoveries have led to some amazing new treatments for Parkinson's — and a new breakthrough approach to preventing it. For example, one of the consistent findings in Parkinson's disease is that victims have very low levels of glutathione in their cells, especially in the areas of the brain most affected. Just how does glutathione affect your body? Glutathione — which is a protein that becomes a powerful antioxidant enzyme — plays a major role in protecting all cells, especially brain cells. This miracle molecule is found in its highest concentrations in the mitochondria of the neuron, which is where 95% of free radicals are produced. Some suspect that people with low glutathione levels are at the greatest risk of developing Parkinson's.
The Problem Is, Most Doctors
As I said, I'm a M.D., a board-certified neurosurgeon and have been a practicing physician for more than 30 years. I'm part and parcel of the medical establishment . . . and for that very reason, I know the strengths and the weaknesses of conventional medicine. I lived through the weaknesses when I saw how little mainstream medicine could do for my own parents! Every year, our government and a number of private institutions spend billions of dollars on research, yet a great deal of this research goes unread. Worse, the information gleaned is often never utilized in treating and preventing human disease. Most doctors never read more than a few articles in popular medical journals, and they almost never read studies of basic science. This is why they think so-called alternative treatments do not work. But the truth is, today's "alternative" treatment often becomes tomorrow's standard of treatment. One example: For decades, so-called alternative and nutritionally-oriented physicians like myself have advocated the omega-3 (fish) oils as a proven preventative for cardiovascular disease, and as a vital component for neurological development in the young. Yet for years many doctors dismissed such recommendations — and mainstream medical journals went out of their way to attack believers in fish oil supplements as misguided. (Now, of course, they all sing its praises as a preventative . . . yet it started out as an "alternative" treatment.)
Mainstream Medicine Often We hear a lot about "evidence-based medicine," but just how much of traditional medical practice is evidence-based? Studies have shown that as little as 30% of conventional medical practice is backed by science. Most medical procedures, treatments and recommendations are based on nothing more than accepted custom . . . anecdotal evidence of what works . . . and recommendations from drug company reps. The term "evidence-based medicine" was invented largely to discredit all alternative treatments, since it implies that everything outside traditional medicine is not "evidence-based." In fact, most alternative treatments have a tremendous amount of scientific evidence for their mode of action. What they often lack is large epidemiological studies, since such studies are prohibitively expensive and the government will not fund well-conducted studies. That is why I now write and edit The Blaylock Wellness Report. And in one of our most popular recent issues, "Parkinson's Disease — You Can Fight Back," you'll discover some amazing new "alternative" therapies that can help protect you or those you love from the ravages of Parkinson's disease and other disorders. I'll tell you how you can get a FREE copy of this new special report in a moment. But first I'd like to tell you why a little bit about me — and how my 30 years as a physician and neurosurgeon led me to embrace a nutritional approach to healing.
Now You Can Get the "Inside Story" You're probably wondering who I am — and how a neurosurgeon came to champion nutritional and other forms of alternative medicine. The truth is, I simply believe in good medicine. I believe in preventing disease if possible . . . and healing it whenever I can. And over the years, I've come to believe that one of the key reasons people get sick and suffer from disease is what they eat. I've also seen the dark side of conventional medicine as practiced in the United States:
Finally, I just couldn't sit by any longer and remain silent. I had to find better, less expensive, more effective solutions to the major health issues plaguing the American people. I wanted to help people like you, who are not getting the best advice to prevent and treat diseases . . . just because of corporate greed and a system that puts the convenience and profit of health care providers above the needs of the patient. I am convinced that the average person wants and needs better, more accurate information about threats to their health than exists today — threats that are NOT covered by the mainstream, corporate-controlled media . . .
Natural Treatments Can Be MORE When it comes to neurological disorders such as Parkinson's, my parents' suffering spurred me to investigate ALL the conventional forms of treatment available. To this day, traditional treatments include a host of drugs and surgeries.
The problem is, these treatments are only marginally effective — and the side effects can be devastating. Fully 70 percent of patients suffer from sleep disturbances. Many also suffer from dyskinesias: uncontrolled, writhing movements, constantly moving. Other side effects include nausea and vomiting, low blood pressure, hallucinations, and disturbing incidences in which patients vacillate between "normal" and fully afflicted symptoms of the disease.
Fortunately, New Treatments In my Blaylock Wellness Report, I tell you all about important breakthroughs and new research on health issues like Parkinson's — issues that the corporate-owned media ignore or deliberately suppress. Plus, I give you practical, real-world advice about what you can do about health problems such as Parkinson's, heart disease, stroke and colon cancer — and how you can take advantage of new discoveries cheaply and easily. You can see for yourself by sending for your FREE copy of a popular new special issue of The Blaylock Wellness Report called "Parkinson's Disease — You Can Fight Back." In this easy-to-read special report, you'll discover some amazing new medical breakthroughs that could make a dramatic difference if you or someone you love suffers from a neurological disease like Parkinson's. Here's just a small sample of the crucial, potentially life-saving information you will gain in this exciting FREE report:
