New Orleans trash entrepreneur subject of reality show

Feb. 3

A New Orleans garbage man is the subject of a new reality show appearing on TLC next week.

Sidney Torres started his SDT Waste and Debris after Hurricane Katrina struck the city and now operates more than 150 trucks and has 180 employees.

An hour-long pilot of the show featuring his company, "Trashmen," is scheduled to air at 10 p.m. Eastern and Pacific time on Feb. 11.

The show will feature Torres and his company’s efforts to clean up during a particularly busy weekend that featured Halloween weekend festivities, the Voo Doo Fest annual outdoor concert, and after a Monday Night Football game featuring the New Orleans Saints.

Ratings for "Trashmen" will determine whether the show is picked up for additional episodes, Torres said.
