Initiative created to reduce greenhouse gas
emissions

Eleven states and Washington, D.C., have created the Transportation
and Climate Initiative, a regional group aimed at reducing greenhouse
gas emissions through transportation improvements.
The group includes environment, energy and transportation officials from
the states in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
"Developing a regional strategy to bring down greenhouse gases is the
right idea to help New Jersey," said Bob Martin, commissioner of the
state´s Department of Environmental Protection.
New Jersey joined the group along with Connecticut, Delaware, Maine,
Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode
Island, Vermont and Washington, D.C.
