Report says combined revenue for waste industry is $75B




Nov. 29 -- A new report puts combined annual revenue for the waste management industry in the United States at $75 billion per year, according to First Research.

The domestic waste management industry includes about 20,000 companies and the top eight firms account for nearly half of the total annual revenue, according to the report.

Waste collection accounts for about 55% of the revenue total, treatment and disposal is about 20% and remediation is about 15%, the research company said.
