Frack water spills from ruptured gas well in PA

Apr. 21, 2011 -- Thousands of gallons of frack water spilled from a Chesapeake Energy natural gas well near Canton, PA, that ruptured late Tuesday evening.

The contaminated water got into a nearby stream before crews could stop the leak. Seven families were forced to evacuate the area.

According to Chesapeake Energy, a piece of equipment failed during the well completion activities.

No injuries were reported and Chesapeake said "crews are on location to control the leak and contain the fluid flow."
