HHO Enthusiast Projects Worldwide

Hawaiian Rabbit

Affectionately called 'Da Smokewagon' - this project is the pride and joy of Lynn from Hawaii, USA.

These VW Rabbit based diesels were very popular and often left a cloud of smoke when driving along.
Now, with her restoration and HHO project, the vehicle is a head turner and a clean burner as well!

"My 1982 VW Rabbit pickup that was rescued from the crusher a few years ago. It first belonged to
the local Coca-Cola bottling company and saw heavy use. After they ran it into the ground it sat
for several years out in a field being moved from place to place with a forklift.

A mechanical engineer friend of mine bought it at auction for $35 and rebuilt the 1.6L diesel engine.
He also rebuilt most of the rest of the systems in the little pickup and used it for a few years in his
business. I bought it from him about five years ago and completed the restoration and upgrades.

This included new struts, springs and suspension, all new rubber seals, (windows, doors, and
everything else), new windshield, taillights, complete new interior including racing seats, and just
about anything else you can think of.

I installed a super cell HHO system with a pwm modulator which increased the horsepower
and made it run much cleaner! I can tell the difference in the smell of the exhaust also. I also
installed aturbocharger from an 84 Rabbit sedan. I'm proud of the pictures of my little baby.

She get stares and whistles wherever she goes and she's still a working girl!"
