Natural gas vehicle use and infrastructure in
California is expanding
April 2011 |
Natural gas vehicle use and infrastructure in
California is expanding, which comes as great news as oil prices
per barrel have soared in the last few months. Besides the huge
cost benefits per unit over diesel, natural gas as a vehicle
fuel contains less carbon than any other fossil fuel and emits
lower carbon dioxide and greenhouse gas emissions every year. It
is domestically produced, with 99% coming from North America.
This issue of the CNGVP newsletter is dedicated to the expansion
of NGV vehicle use and infrastructure in California. See below
to read about Ryder System, Inc.'s new dedication to natural
gas; the company recently ordered 202 heavy-duty natural gas
vehicles in an agreement with SANBAG as part of a rental and
leasing project. Ryder will also build two natural gas stations
and complete three garage modifications for NGV maintenance in
Southern California. Read about how high diesel prices are
driving up demand for NGVS, and hear about new stations opening
not just in California, but in Dallas and Utah thanks to
California-based companies and partnerships. Thanks for checking
in and we'll see you next month! In the meantime, remember to
log onto
WWW.CNGVP.ORG for the latest updates and information.
