APS Announces April 2011 Renewable Request for Proposal

PHOENIX, Feb 17, 2011 -- BUSINESS WIRE

Arizona Public Service Company will hold a webinar on Wednesday, February 23, to prepare respondents for the issuance of a renewable energy request for proposal (RFP) planned for April 2011.

The webinar will cover changes to the RFP process that are being implemented this year. These changes include new requirements for when transmission interconnection studies must be completed; when the developer must have control of the land where the project is located; and a requirement to post development security (cash or letter of credit).

The RFP is part of the APS Small Generation Standard Offer program, a three-year effort that uses annual solicitations for energy from projects between 2 and 15 megawatts. The program's first RFP was issued in 2010.

A summary of the changes and instructions on how to participate in the webinar are posted at aps.com/rfp.

APS, Arizona's largest and longest-serving electricity utility, serves more than 1.1 million customers in 11 of the state's 15 counties. With headquarters in Phoenix, APS is the principal subsidiary of Pinnacle West Capital Corp. (NYSE: PNW).
