Having
helped spearhead the "Draft
Ron Paul 2004" campaign starting in
2001, collecting a few thousand
signatures; and being extremely surprised and pleased to
see how well he did in the 2008 campaign, I have been
watching carefully to see if he will run in 2012.
There certainly has been a lot of encouragement from the
freedom-advocacy community for him to run again. He
has a grandfatherly, disarming way of speaking of very
difficult and divisive issues in a common-sense, charming
way. He has a strong foundation in principles of
freedom and is able to articulate that message powerfully,
resonating with people from a wide spectrum of backgrounds,
parties and religious beliefs.
When various talk show and television hosts have asked him
if he plans to run in 2012, he has been saying that he has
been considering it, but that it hasn't been an obvious
choice for him. It puts a big strain on him and his
family.
When I heard Rand Paul's presentation at the
Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), where
Ron won the Presidential straw poll by a very strong margin
for a second year in a row, and I saw how strongly Rand
worded
his remarks about the dire need we have to elect a
Constitutionally-rooted person into the presidency in 2012,
it seemed to me that the decision was leaning strongly
toward Ron Paul running. How could he resist such an
overture, both from his son who recently won a Senate race
against great odds, and from his supporters.
Here
is Ron Paul's speech to CPAC.
The today Ron sent out the message
below to his mailing lists. It basically puts the
decision in the hands of us -- the people. Will we
show him that we want him to run, by helping him raise a
huge wad of campaign money on President's day 2011?
Note that his wording is all but saying he plans to run, but
that he wants to see what kind of support there is out
there. Let's dig deep from our own pockets, and pass
this message on to all our freedom-loving friends, email
lists, blogs, alternative news outlets.
If his past money bombs are any indicator, he will come away
very pleased. On Sunday, December 16, 2007, the
commemoration of the Boston Tea Party, he
set a record for dollars raised by a presidential
candidate in a single day, pulling in $6 million in a
24-hour period.
What better day than the patriotic President's Day to run
this money bomb. He, more than any other major
potential candidate, stands for freedom and the
Constitution; which are themes of the holiday, which other
presidents have defiled by their disregard to the
Constitution they swore to uphold. The sitting
president, Barry Soetoro (aka Obama), defied the
Constitution by the very act of running, since he is not a
natural-born citizen.
I don't know about you, but I really enjoy listening to
Ron's videos shown on the
CampaignforLiberty YouTube channel as he appears on
various television programs on a regular basis.
Here is the message Ron Paul sent out
a message to his supporters, including the images:
February 18, 2011
Dear Sterling,
A great man was born 279 years ago.
George Washington was a freedom fighter, a leader, and
one of our greatest Presidents. But, much of General
Washington's greatness was marked not by what he did,
but by what he chose not to do.
He could have been a King.
Instead, he stood for Liberty and stepped aside after
eight years, allowing our young Republic to grow into
the greatest nation in Human history.
2012 offers our movement a tremendous opportunity. Our
nation is beset with crippling debt, an out of control
federal government, and a foreign policy that weakens
our national defense and isolates us from the world.
But with hard work and determination, we can change
course and turn our country back toward Liberty and all
of its rewards.
Quite frankly, we need to elect a President in 2012 who
will do a lot less: less meddling in the economy, less
spending, less warrantless ransacking, less bailing out
of Wall Street, less inflating, and less foreign aid and
overseas intervention.
We need a President who will respect our Constitution,
not someone who simply pays lip service to our
traditions.
Because I want a President who does so much less, a lot
of people ask me if this means I want a weak President.
My answer is "No!" I want a strong President - a
President like George Washington.
I want a President strong enough NOT to take power he
should not have.
It is no secret that I am weighing my personal political
options for 2012, and that I am relying on Liberty PAC
to fund my efforts while I make important decisions.
Monday, February 21st, is Presidents' Day, which
celebrates George Washington's birthday, and we hope to
make it one to remember.
On Monday, Liberty PAC will host its first-ever Money
Bomb. Please mark it on your calendar and consider
contributing. If we all come together and pitch in, we
can take our country back from the statists that are
stealing our Liberty and shredding our Constitution.
The next few months will be critical to ensuring a
successful political operation for the 2012 cycle. I
hope you will join me by making this Presidents' Day,
February 21st, truly special.
For Liberty,
Ron Paul

===== END OF EMAIL QUOTATION ======
Let's do it! Let's show him, and let's show the
world that America still stands for freedom, and that the
conspirator's days are numbered, who have been installing
tyranny everywhere and every chance they can get.
The donate link is already working. Let's give it a
good head start, then chip in more on President's Day.
Pass it on!
p.s. This is relevant to
free energy inasmuch as Ron Paul is a major antidote to
the
conspiracy that seeks to overthrow freedom and establish
a global police state. They are against the emergence of
breakthrough free energy technologies because they empower
individuals; while the rising tyrrany is all about enslaving
humanity.
