| Have You Priced Fresh Produce Lately?
Have you priced fresh produce lately? A 3-pound bag of citrus will
set you back $7 or $8. You'll pay two bucks for a small head of
broccoli... over $3 a pound for grapes... a whopping $4 for a skimpy
little package of organic romaine... alfalfa sprouts, $4 for a few
ounces. And yet, if you head for your local fast food joint, you can feast
like a king from the dollar menu. A family of four can fill up for under
$12. Does that seem right to you? The reason you can eat so cheaply from the fast food menu is because
corn and soy are major ingredients. And corn and soy are heavily
subsidized by the government. Food manufacturers can buy corn and soy
for less than it costs to grow them. Then they make pseudo-foods out of
it, like high fructose corn syrup, and put it in everything. There's
corn in your soda, in the "milk" shake, in the hamburger bun, in the
secret sauce on the burger, in the breading on the chicken nuggets, and
more. Soy is almost as ubiquitous. But it's all poor quality. In fact, many people would say
it's not even real food. It's been pummeled, processed, engineered, and
resembles nothing your great-grandparents ate. Where are the subsidies for healthy foods? For vegetables?
For fruit? It's great that Michelle Obama has planted a White House
vegetable garden... but that hasn't translated into any meaningful
change in the farm bill. Subsidized fast food, laden with high fructose corn syrup and GMO
soy, is bad enough. We'll never get healthy eating it. Yes, people
should exercise personal responsibility. But all the subsidy dollars
pushed into corn and soy, and all the advertising dollars spent to get
you to the drive-through window, have had an unmistakable effect on the
culture. Each day, 50 million Americans eat at a fast food restaurant. Almost
half the population eats fast food once a week. One in five eats a fast
food meal at least twice per week. Remember when you were little, and going out for fast food was a rare
treat? A really big deal? My, how times have changed. We now live in a culture where we're actually trained to
expect fast food, on demand, 24/7. We've been trained to not
think ahead, not plan ahead, not worry about where our
next meal will come from. Instead, we're told all we need to do is just
hop in the car and head for the golden arches, where a hot, tasty meal
will be waiting for us. We're like sheep being led to the slaughter. Because if it isn't the slow death of diabetes and heart disease, it
will be the quick (but not quick enough) death of starvation when
there's a catastrophic event and fast food is suddenly not available. It's been said that civilization is just nine meals from anarchy.
When there isn't that hot meal waiting... when stressed people get
hungry... things can get real ugly, real fast. What good are those food subsidies then? In any kind of emergency - a natural disaster, a prolonged grid
outage - those food subsidies aren't worth a darn. In fact, depending on
food subsidies is extremely risky... to your health and to your very
		survival.

 The Countertop Survival Garden:
Spend Literally Just Seconds Per Day, and
Enjoy Fresh-Grown Food In Good Times and In
		Emergencies, for Pennies
In a perfect world, we'd all be growing our own vegetable gardens.
But when you're working all hours of the day and night just to make ends
meet... or juggling work and school from dawn to dusk... it's just too
easy to fill up on cheap, fast, government-subsidized fast food, and the
consequences be damned. Unless you have your very own low-maintenance countertop survival
garden, that is. I'm talking about the

Sprout Sampler Kit, a complete package that contains everything you
need to grow your own sprouts fast. You get a wide-mouth sprouting jar
and lid, complete instructions, and one pack each of seeds for
sprouting: wheat, green lentils, fenugreek, green peas, black-eyed peas,
radishes, alfalfa, mung beans, garbanzo beans, and broccoli. Growing sprouts requires, literally, just seconds per day of your
time. You "plant" them one day, and just days later, they're ready to
eat. Include them in sandwiches, salads, soups, and more. But here's the best thing about sprouts: they're one of the
most nutrient-dense foods you can eat. Almost no other food will help you thrive the way sprouts do. In
fact, you could say that sprouts are the true "happy meal." That's
because home-grown sprouts are superfoods. They're packed with
		essential vitamins like A, B, C, E, and K. They contain essential
minerals like potassium, phosphorus, and iron. They have essential
macronutrients like protein, fiber, and carbohydrates. But best of all,
		they contain important newly discovered
nutrients like the enzyme sulphoraphane, linoleic acid, amino acids,
and coenzyme Q-10. This nutrient density isn't just a nice benefit. It's essential for
survival... whether you are trying to survive the daily grind, or need
to survive a major catastrophic event. In fact, the nutrients in the foods from your countertop survival
garden mean the difference between surviving
and thriving. Home-grown sprouts help to support:
robust health boundless energy superior stamina mental clarity stress relief And while sprouting supplies should be part of everyone's emergency
supplies - for extended power outages, natural disasters, or even
complete societal collapse - sprouts are just as important on a
day-to-day, non-emergency basis. The Sprout Sampler Kit helps you to survive--and thrive--in 4
important ways. #1: Home sprouting combats insanely high produce prices at
the grocery store. You'll pay just pennies to grow
what would cost you big dollars at the store. #2: Homegrown sprouts are an ideal emergency food.
In any kind of emergency, you need food that sustains you, helps combat
stress, and protects your health. Sprouts are ideal; you can grow them
year round, in small spaces, and even without light. And they grow
fast. #3: Sprouts give you superior nutrients. Bite for
bite, calorie for calorie, there's no other fruit or vegetable that will
give you more nutrient density than sprouts. #4: Growing your own sprouts mean you avoid huge food
poisoning outbreaks. Commercially grown sprouts are linked to
large food poisoning epidemics. Since 1996, there have been over 30
outbreaks of food poisoning in the U.S. linked to sprouts. In Europe
last summer, over 4000 people were sickened (900 of them with the
life-threatening hemolytic uremic syndrome) and 50 died from E coli
infested sprouts. The Sprout Sampler Kit was designed for people who are interested in
all the benefits of sprouting, but aren't quite ready to commit to our
larger Survival Sprout Bank. If you want to give sprouting a try... or
if you're single or have a very small household... the Sprout Sampler
Kit is perfect for you. >>>

when an emergency comes along and you need a fast source of fresh,
