Our Renunciation of Faith
Apostasy is usually thought of as a renunciation of religious faith.
However, apostasy can take many forms, which includes a total turning
away from principles once professed. We can still claim to be people of
faith but deny the inherent power of that faith. Even if we have no
religious faith, we can still claim to have principles, but use every
means of deception to wiggle around those principles.
The Bible says: “But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last
days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful,
proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,
without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not
lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure
rather than lovers of God--having a form of godliness but
denying its power.” (2 Timothy 3:1-5a)
This is no more apparent than in the way we handle monetary policy in
this country or the lack of response from the pulpits of our churches on
sound money principles that include biblical teaching and standards. God
has something to say about most all areas of life, and monetary policy
is one of them.
Today’s guest on Off the Grid Radio, Doug Tjaden of SilverSavers.com,
joins Bill Heid and Jeff Harlow in discussing the accompanying moral
decline of a people who embrace unsound fiscal policies and the
debasement of their money. This decline affects everything in a nation’s
culture--from the quality of life their citizens can expect to lead to
unjust wars fought on credit out of an empty purse. As we and our
government harden our hearts to just weights and measures, God will give
us over to ungodly governments which will always include tyrants and
dictators.
Christian stewardship must include incorporating God’s absolutes on
money and passing that knowledge on to future generations. Martin Luther
stated that the sixth commandment “Thou shalt not steal,” clearly
includes “changing, cheapening, imitating, and adulterating.” From
Rushdooney’s 1973 book The Institutes of Biblical Law comes
this chilling conclusion: “In other words, God shortens the life of the
nation that condones short-changing and defrauding, by fraudulent money,
scales, and other measures.”
From Ben Bernacke and the Federal Reserve to silver manipulation by JP
Morgan, our country is involved in deception and fraud on a massive
scale. We gone from administering the death penalty for money debasement
to embracing fiat money that is worth less than the paper it is printed
on. Is it any wonder that our country seems spiraling down the road to
Hell with no end in sight?
