Crime Statistics Some Don't Want You To Consider

James Eagan Holmes, James Edward Pough, Jiverly Antares Wong, James Oliver Huberty, Sulejman Talovic, Patrick Sherrill, Nidal Malik Hasan, Wade Michael Page... and more. These are the names of mass murderers, men who went on violent rampages and mowed down innocent people with some type of weapon -- handgun, assault rifle, semi-automatic, or shotgun -- in a public place. According to an August 8th article in Mother Jones, there have been at least 60 of these incidents in the last 30 years, and if you factor in a high average of 10 people killed per incident, then approximately 600+ people have died in the last 30 years from mass murderers on gun sprees in public places.

To keep things in perspective, that's around 20 people a year who die from the actions of psychopaths who exhibited behaviors that should have caused notice and intervention, but didn't. And while 20 people a year are 20 people too many, the cold fact is you have 4 times more chance of being killed by a lightning strike than you do by a mass-murdering psychopath bent on mayhem and death.

Not to hear the gun confiscation lobby tell it. One tragedy and they want to take all the means of protection you and I have away from us and force us to rely on the diminishing services of police and sheriff departments around the country, public servants the Supreme Court has ruled have no legal obligation to protect you from anything... or anyone.

The names that should be in the national news, but aren't, are Bob and Nancy Strait, a 90-year-old man and his 85-year-old wife. He was shot in the face with a BB gun by a home invader in Tulsa, Oklahoma in March of this year. She was sexually assaulted and battered to death. Christopher Newsom and Channon Christian were carjacked in 2007 in Knoxville, Tennessee and raped, tortured, and murdered by a gang of thugs. In June, a couple in South Carolina woke up to armed invaders in their home, and were subsequently kidnapped, robbed, and the woman was raped.

In fact, let's get a cold dose of reality. According to the FBI's 2011 preliminary report on violent crime statistics, in Birmingham, Alabama alone, in 2011, there were 3,163 reported violent crimes and 17,841 reported property crimes (which always have the potential of turning violent). Those are 21,004 incidents of suffering personal harm or the potential to suffer personal harm in one year in one city alone.

I'm sorry, tell me how vulnerable I am to a mass murdering whacko in a movie theater again? Let's see, in a United States population of 311,591,917 people, divided by 20 (the average number of people killed a year in mass murdering gun sprees), my odds of dying in one are so minute they barely calculate. I am more likely to die or suffer extensive harm in my home by a violent invader (or a bolt of lightning).

And as the economy worsens, as we are divided along racial, ethnic, political, and religious lines by the strutting, posturing politicians who will use every means at their disposal to win re-election (including inciting us to civil war), those violent crime statistics can only go up. It's not only imperative that we protect ourselves from the hoodlums...

It's important that we protect our means of protection from the hoodlums.

But where does one begin? I would suggest with this book...

How To Hide Your Guns
Off Grid Survival Caches

How to Hide Your Guns is very different from many of the other resources we have seen. How to Hide Your Guns is full of practical, easy-to-implement tips and tricks that many people would not think about on their own. Nearly all of the ideas are easy and cheap to implement immediately.

How to Hide Your Guns will teach you everything you need to know to keep your personal property from being stolen. In this book, you'll learn a great deal about home security in general, and how to prepare for potential emergency scenarios that can make your home and property vulnerable to those who are out to do harm.

You get this information in three formats: as a print book, as an audio book, and as an instant PDF download. You can read at your leisure, listen in your car, or start reading right away with the PDF download. But regardless of the format, you'll get invaluable information such as:

  • How to hide guns, jewelry, and other valuables in plain sight!
  • Places you should never hide your guns or valuables
  • Why a cache is different from a hiding place, the reasons for using one, and how to create a fool-proof cache
  • The best places in your home to hide your money and credit cards
  • What to look for in a home security system
  • How to stay "below the radar" of anyone who might have any reason to take your guns
  • Special tips for urban dwellers.

This comprehensive book doesn't stop there. (In fact, in my opinion the title should be Hide Your Guns and Much, Much More!) The author also covers how to protect your personal property in various emergency situations, such as natural disasters, civil unrest, or any other scenario that might force you out of your home.

PLUS... with your purchase of this book, you get not only three book formats (print, audio, and downloadable PDF), you'll also receive three bonus gifts. These products were handpicked to make this package the perfect resource for those of you who are ready to take your emergency preparedness to the next level.

1st Free Gift: A 2-part CD set called The Great Gun Debate: How To Argue With Liberals About Guns And Win Every Time! Tired of debating with liberals about guns and gun control? This CD set reveals gun control arguments even the most hard-core liberals can't defeat.

2nd Free Gift: A bonus DVD called The Real Story Behind The Second Amendment. This DVD shows you why our Founding Fathers intended for the Second Amendment to be included with our founding documents. This is a must-have video for anyone interested in preserving the right to keep and bear arms.

3rd Free Gift: Our popular e-Book, No B.S. Home Defense With Firearms. This 16-page e-Book teaches you how to use firearms to protect yourself and your family. Learn how to use your weapons safely when you find yourself backed into a corner. (Disclaimer: Using guns for self defense carries with it certain risks. Some of these risks are obviously life threatening. Always find out local, state, and federal laws that govern the use of deadly and non-deadly force.)

The simple fact is ... the government cannot keep us safe. Just being alive carries risks. There is no such thing as a perfect world where criminals don't exist and madmen don't come out of the shadows. Not this side of heaven, anyway. Our families depend on us to keep them safe, and I for one will use every available resource to do so.

Don't allow the smarmy politicians and the anti-gun lobby decide whether you can reasonably defend yourself against violent criminals who wish to do you harm. Click here to order your copy of How to Hide Your Guns.
