Little Azerbaijan Poses a Major Challenge to Iran

Malaysia: An Emerging Market Success Story?
Despite a weakening global economy, Malaysia has revealed itself as a
star performer in the Asian sphere. Real GDP exceeded expectations,
growing at a robust 5.2 percent in the third quarter compared to the
third quarter of 2011. Malaysia benefits greatly from strong domestic
demand, offsetting recent much weaker external demand. Extensive
government spending is being ramped up in order to build support ahead
of national elections which must be held by early 2013.

Tensions Rise as China Makes Bold Moves in Disputed Territories
The announcement by China that it will use police forces to board
vessels in disputed territorial waters in the South China Sea increases
the risk of miscalculation which could spark a regional conflict. If
China follows through and does board foreign vessels in disputed waters,
it will have far reaching global implications, likely affecting trade
and access to sea lines of communication.
