"How To Get Rid Of Tooky Gut Once And For All"

I remember years ago visiting a doctor about chronic digestive problems. After explaining to him my various symptoms and suffering through an endless barrage of tests, he finally delivered his diagnosis. I, of course, had been terrified there was something terribly wrong, but he reassured me that I was actually okay. I just had the...

"Tookiest" digestive system he'd ever seen!

If I wasn't willing to live on fish heads and rice, I was going to have to learn to adapt and adjust my lifestyle and habits around this aggravating gut that refused to play nice. There was medication that would help, but in the end, my choices in food consumption would dictate how well or ill I felt.

Like most individuals who have a stomach that just doesn't want to cooperate, I thought I had been doing a fairly good job of eating right. I cooked a variety of vegetables, I ate fruit, I was picky about the cuts of meat I selected, and it was whole-grain all the way in terms of bread and cereal. My milk choices were low-fat and I didn't indulge in sweets. All in all, I was following a pretty healthy plan.

The way I looked at food choice changed, however, when I started to raise my own chickens for eggs.

I had given up eggs long before because they just didn't sit well with my "tooky" gut. However, the rest of the family thoroughly enjoyed them. We had just begun our "back to basics" attempt at living, and had purchased several Rhode Island Red chickens. When they matured and started laying eggs, I was immediately surprised at the difference between the eggs I got from them and those from the store.

In my eggs the shell was thicker, as was the yolk and egg white, compared to commercially-produced eggs. Not only that, the yolk was almost orange in contrast to what I was used to seeing in the store-bought version. In fact, the ones from the store looked positively anemic compared to what I was getting from my own chickens.

I couldn't resist. I had to try them.

And didn't have one digestive upset!

That started me on my quest for natural foods that would not make me sick. I found out that "natural foods" didn't necessarily mean those in the fresh vegetable bins of the grocery store. Sure, they may not have been cooked and processed into a can or shoved into a freezer bag, but their origins were the same--the overly chemical-laden food that is given to us by Big Ag. So I started trolling the farmers markets and roadside stands that crop up during gardening season here in my area, and found that the food I bought from these folks was certainly more easily tolerated by my system.

My new-found way of eating calmed my gurgling gut, but now I felt a new pain in my WALLET!

We've got a problem with our food supply. Prices are going up all over the place because of global shortages due to natural disasters, growing demand from a rising middle class in China and India, the explosion of fuel prices, and the use of crops for biofuel and animal feed instead of feeding people. These are factors that affect small farmers as well, not only in the cost of seed at the front end, but the cost of the entire process of growing and harvesting crops. Prices were always a little higher at the independent stands and markets for fresh food, but I was willing to pay that for the health benefits.

But like the rest of the country, I've had to downsize my budget drastically because of the faltering economy.

I decided it was time to start my own garden.

And there came the rub. I could buy all types of GMO seed that had been not just genetically modified, but chemically treated as well. I had just gotten my health problems under control, and didn't want to experiment with seed that was manipulated and dipped in chemicals. I felt that my sensitivity to these things made it worth my while to search out those types of seed I soon found were called "heirloom seeds."

Heirlooms--Seed the Way God Intended

We are seeing an erosion in the genetic diversity of our seed at an unprecedented rate. With the introduction of patented GMO seed by the Big Ag corporations, we are losing more and more of those seed that proved to be able to withstand disease and pests naturally. It's been shown that GMOs easily contaminate non-GMOs, ruining entire crop fields. Through natural pollination occurrences, many heirloom varieties are being inadvertently cross-pollinated with GMOs, and we're losing these precious mainstays at an alarming rate.

This genetic erosion will be catastrophic if we don't step back now, at least in our own small backyard gardens and small farms. Jack Harlan, author of Crops and Man, wrote: "These resources stand between us and catastrophic starvation on a scale we cannot imagine. In a very real sense, the future of the human race rides on these materials. The line between abundance and disaster is becoming thinner and thinner, and the public is unaware and unconcerned. Must we wait for disaster to be real before we are heard? Will people listen only after it is too late?"

The past 40 years has seen the loss of many heirloom varieties. These are plants that have survived through the years, proving their hardiness against natural predators and diseases without the use of harsh chemicals. They provide mouth-watering flavor and are full of the vitamins and minerals that we need to survive.

They're getting harder and harder to come by, but they're still available.

The Survival Seed Bank(TM) is one such source for heirloom seeds. This seed bank is a kit that contains special, hard to find, open-pollinated super seeds, grown by small, fiercely independent farmers. These seeds are from authentic strains which have not been genetically modified.

Each of the Survival Seed Bank(TM) varieties has been hand-picked for germination rate, nutritional density, and, of course, storage life. These seeds are true heirlooms and produce extremely nutritious plants. In fact, some studies show that these varieties are up to five times as nutritious as hybrid varieties.

Each seed pack is individually packaged for maximum shelf life.

By that I mean the Survival Seed Bank(TM) only contains seed that has been carefully dried to the precise level of allowable moisture which "locks in" hardiness and maintains extremely long shelf life. Then, each seed package is sealed in a special foil packet with a very expensive desiccant designed to keep seeds fresh for 20 years at 70 degrees. (However, if you freeze your "seed bank" you could increase the shelf life by five times or more beyond that.)

It's amazing how much better I have felt since making the decision to mainly consume foods that I have grown myself. (And if I haven't grown them, then know where they come from and what's in them!) The wonderful thing about the variety of seed in the Survival Seed Bank(TM) is that I can harvest the seed from each vegetable year after year. You can't do that with GMO seed.

If you're looking for a way to combat rising food prices, or if you're like me, looking for a way to maintain your health, then click here to order your Survival Seed Bank(TM) today!

Having control over your food is one of the basic needs we all have and it will prove to be one of the best investments you'll ever make.

It's also nice to know that we don't have to limit ourselves to fish heads and rice!

Happy Gardening!
Andy
